Our Story

St. Michael’s opened with 40 beds on April 5, 1981, with a ceremony officiated by Archbishop C.P. Gowes, Archbishop J.E. Careny, and Reverend S.W. Rowels. On February 7, 1992, the Centre expanded on its tradition of care by opening its 16-bed hospice and by adding 88 long-term care beds.

This event was performed by The Rev. Donald Grayson of the Anglican Church, The Rev. George Morrison of the United Church and Father Dennis Luterback of the Catholic Church.

St. Michael’s Centre opened their doors for the community

Under the sponsorship of the Anglican, Roman Catholic, and United Churches. The opening ceremony was officiated by Archbishop C. P. Gowes, Archbishop J. E. Careny and Reverend S. W. Rowels.

1992

St. Michael’s building expansion

Continuing with its tradition of excellent care, Hospice opened its doors with 16 beds, and 88 extended care beds were added.
